There are lots of stereotypes that focuses on ethnicity and the place of birth of the character, these are some of the most typical examples:

- Latin America: Love Spicy food, they have lots of parties, they are hard workers but not very smart, the Mariachis and typical clothes like the sombreros, etc.

- North America: They are entrepreneurs, they are very modern, they love junk food, the are dangerous and they use lots of guns, they are extroverts, etc.

- Asian: They are very smart and very good specially in maths, they are hard workers, they are more advanced technologically, they eat exotic food, etc.

- South Europe: They are small people, poor in comparison with North Europe, they are sluggish, they have lots of parties and they love the sun and the beach, etc.

- North Europe: They are hard workers and entrepreneurs, they are tall and blond, they are very serious, rich and intelligent, etc.

- South Africa: They are rich, they are very serious with religion, they are entrepreneurs and they work hard, they like spicy food and exotic entertainment.

- North Africa: They are poor, their color of the skin is black, they love their own traditions, the are used to the criminology, they are not very smart, etc.

Of course, all this stereotypes are just stereotypes created by the representation of the media about them, and it depends on the politic ideas of the creators of that media, for example you have Pixar, that embrace those stereotypes and makes them look like the beauty of the place (Luca, Coco) and then you have other productions that uses those stereotypes to show them like a dangerous thing and make you have ideas about some people without knowing them (Breaking Bad with the Latin Americans and the North European people)

These are 3 famous examples of stereotypes in popular media:

Apu, from The Simpsons (1989 - Present)

Apu represents some of the most typical stereotypes of an Indian person: Many children, hard worker, darker skin, different accent, funny and extrovert, etc.

These stereotypes finally were exposed and criticized by the audience in 2020, making the voice actor to apologize and to leave the character

Luis from Ant-Man (2015)

Luis is presented as the best friend of Ant-Man on both of the movies of the character. Luis represent very typical stereotypes of a Latin American person: Extrovert, hard worker, darker skin, different accent and a funny person.

In this case, the actor playing Luis (Miguel Peña) is a Latin American descendant, so he can represent the character and his ethnicity in a good way.

Hidetoshi Hasagawa from The Office US (2005 - 2013)

He appears in a few scenes, but when he appears he represents perfectly all the stereotypes of an Asian person: Different accent, very smart, hard worker and talks about exotic things about Japan.

This character has been criticized for being a bad representation for the Asian people.

But, there are some characters with a very specific ethnicity that fights against the stereotypes and they become an iconic form of representation of their place of birth, for example:

Miles Morales from Marvel (2011 - Present)

Miles Morales is one of the main representations of the Latin American and the African American community in the Marvel Universe, from comics, video games, even being the main character in a movie.

In terms of representation, he does represent some stereotypes from the African American community, but his personality and main characteristic are not based in the stereotypes.
