Paul Gilroy: connects domestic conceptions of race, racism, immigration and national identity to its imperial reach. For example, the most used language for media is English, because England spread his culture and traditions all around the world, affecting the way that those places speak, think etc. For example, South Africa and United States speak English and have English traditions because the were used to be England colonies before independence.

The easiest way to understand it is by comparing Hollywood, Bollywood, and Hallyuwood.

Western started producing film before Oriental, and the evolution of blockbusters was visible in the Hollywood films, being seen as pieces of art more than entertaining pieces, but Bollywood started producing films when Hollywood realized that making more entertaining pieces is more price full than creating actual pieces of art, that's why Bollywood usually makes movies to be more entertaining than pieces of art.

The same thing happened in South Korea with the Hallyuwood for a very long time, but there are Korean directors that inspired by western productions that are starting to give more artistic vision to Korean films, such as Bong Joon-Ho or Chloe Zhao.

And that's why Hollywood movies are so different than Bollywood and Hallyuwood movies.
